This study looked at the business of cattle rearing in the 21st century Nigeria with particular reference to the southeast region. The broad objective of the study is to critically assess cattle rearing business in Nigeria vis-à-vis its challenges, prospects and implications for post-covid-19-lockdown recovery and sustainable development of the southeast region. The study was subjected to empirical test using regression analysis with the aid of SPSS version 21 to find out the contribution of the cattle rearing business to post-covid-19-lockdown economic recovery and sustainable development of the southeast region using data sourced from a sample of 400 respondents drawn from the five states that constitute the Southeast region. The regression analyses show that beta (standardized coefficients) is 0.959, r = .959, while r2 = 0.929, which is about 92.9% contribution. This implies that cattle rearing business will contribute significantly to economic recovery and sustainable development of the southeast region in the post covid-19-lockdown era & beyond. In order to achieve this feat, the study recommended ranching of cattle; the reintroduction of local breed (known as Efi-Igbo) where they have gone into extinction in the region; and involvement of the youths of the region in the cattle business as a veritable means of employment creation; post-covid-19-lockdown economic recovery; and sustainable development of the region.

[Abstract]
Education has an acculturating role. It refines sensitivities and perceptions that add to national solidity, a logical temper and freedom of mind and spirit - thus furthering the goals of socialism, secularism and democracy enshrined in our Constitution. Education is elemental for achieving full human potential, developing an impartial and just society and promoting national development. It has always been accorded an honored position in the Indian society. The great leaders and the revolutionaries of the Indian freedom movement realized the essential role of education and all through the nation’s struggle for independence, stressed its exceptional significance for national development. Since the end of the British rule in 1947 India’s literacy rate has increased six times, from 12% to 74%. On the other hand, what is questionable is the quality of education - placing India among the 21 countries facing an “extensive” learning crisis. India has a quarter of its population still deprived of the basic reading and writing skills. India has the world’s largest population of illiterate people, according to a report by Oxfam and as per UNESCO India has 287 million, or 37% of the world’s illiterate people. The national policy of education was a good start in the way of educating the masses. Governments all over the world pay great importance on education policy. There is a universal pressure on ever-increasing attention on the outcomes of educational policies and their impact on social and economic development. However, there is often a deficit of understanding of how educational policies are shaped and what constitutes an education policy. This article is an attempt to analyze the recent educational policy (NEP 2020) with the previous policies on education; NEP 1968 and NEP 1986 and presenting their intended outcomes.

[Abstract]
In India the mobile payment transaction adoptability has increased extensively post the introduction of demonetization in November 2016. To discourage the usage of cash in the country’s journey towards making India a cashless economy, a tax deductible at source was introduced w.e.f September 1, 2019 on the cash withdrawals above a prescribed ceiling. To further encourage merchants to accept the digital transactions on par with cash, the Finance Minister announced on December 28, 2019, that the previously applicable Merchant Discount Rate (MDR) which was payable by the merchants on card transactions will not be applicable on digital transactions made through RuPay Cards and United Payment Interface (UPI) platforms. This decision of the Indian government discourages the practice of cash transaction and encourages digital payment options. As we know, India is presently one of the fastest growing economies in the world and various important steps are being taken to increase cashless monetary solutions. India is gearing up for its biggest revolutions in recent times as multiple digital payment gateways are available on different platforms to support cash less economy. This conceptual research paper broadly focuses on the practices and challenges faced by various countries to progress to a cashless economy. The catalyst that trigger an economy to transform to a cash less economy may come from diverse sources depending on their influence/ importance in a particular country/economy. It will be useful for adding values to the researchers at large to have a look at the some countries including India to understand the country specific factors that have spearheaded the cashless economy.

[Abstract]
Micro, Small and Medium sector constitute sizeable proportion in total entities in India. MSME sector houses the largest workforce after agriculture. Owing to its significant contribution to economic and social development of the country, this sector has been identified as one of the priority sectors. In Bihar, due to the absence of large industries, micro, small and medium enterprises have been the mainstay of private investments. MSMEs have also been the pillar stone to social inclusion as there has been incorporation of entrepreneurial skills through traditional business. Through this study, an attempt is made to present the analysis and interpretation related to the contribution of the MSME sector in social inclusion and its future prospect in tapping the opportunities arising out in light of recent initiatives. The study further presents a comparative analysis of differences in the views of micro, small and medium enterprises towards the obstacles faced by them in operations of their establishment.

In the start, the essence of living definitely came down and everyone, individually is looking forward to surviving this unfortunate catastrophic event which has befallen on them. The usage and budgets even on a family level has reduced and policies of adjustments and self-sustaining notions have come in practice. These times have called upon a more better organizations that can remain operative even in such dark times. With most of us going through a tuff time, strategies and policies require amendments. However, amidst all this mess and uncountable adaptations that came into effect such as ; remote learning, work from home, telemedicine etc, many of us have come to know the true meaning of life and we all have gained good experience on how to handle the unpredicted challenges like that of one we are currently facing. Self-centricity and chaotic schedules are gradually getting demolished and people are collectively coming together to overcome all this. The lockdown periods have given rise to attachments and care for the loved ones which might have been almost somewhat forgotten from our day-to-day busy life.

[Abstract]
The recent COVID19 pandemic has impacted the healthcare delivery sector in India quite adversely. Small hospitals, already distressed by a highly competitive and challenging business environment, were among the worst hit. This study aims to examine the measures adopted to maintain sustainability of small hospitals in Kerala during COVID19 pandemic. The study also examines the innovative strategies adopted by these hospitals to face competition from larger hospitals. To maintain business continuity through infection control, the state branch of Indian Medical Association launched I SAFE program and established a network of small and medium medical institutions for effective implementation of the program. The project help in infection control by providing infection kits, logistics and training to medical institutions. To effectively face competition from larger hospitals, small hospitals in Kerala have devised a unique 'co-operative model' network. Strategies include referencing patients within the network, data sharing, collective procurement of medicines and equipment and collective medical waste disposal. Small hospitals are also effectively managing the 7Ps of service marketing to attract and retain patients. These business practices can be replicated in other states as well to ensure survival of small hospitals which are critical in ensuring affordability of and accessibility to quality healthcare.

[Abstract]
This work examined telecommuting and organizational performance in the phase of the COVID 19 pandemic in the South East region of Nigeria. The dynamic nature of the environment in which organizations operate and the urgency required for responding to customers’ needs in the phase of the COVID 19 pandemic made this investigation necessary. The broad objective of this study is to examine telecommuting and organizational performance in the phase of Covid-19 pandemic. To achieve the objective, a survey research design was adopted. The population of the study was 1,195 and the Taro Yamane formula was used to derive the study sample size of 300. Spearman Rank Correlation Coefficient was used in the testing of hypotheses. The results revealed that; there is a positive but insignificant correlation between working at home and an increase in the number of customers attended to over some time; there is a significant correlation between working at agreed location and resolution of customers complaints; working on transit has a weak but positive association with speedy service delivery. Based on these findings, the researchers concluded that telecommuting has a minimum impact on the organizational performance in the phase of the COVID 19 pandemic. The researchers, therefore, recommended, among others, that organizations need to encourage the work practice that allows employees to work at the agreed location since it has been found to have a significant and positive correlation with the resolution of customers’ complaints.
